We got asked to think the garden of Petenio's House, a free standing house that belonged to a large plot with 3 different houses of the same family. Time passed, hoses were selled and the plot repareceled.
They suddenly realised that they didn't have a proper garden, a place to eat oustide or to play football with a little bit of intimicy.

First thing was to find that the main problem was that the house and the garden limits had no relation, the house had no exterior space. To create this exterior space, the decission was start from the limits and advance towards the house.

The second decission was to give some kind of qualifyed shadow space. For that we created a cannopy with wood and iron (having in mind that the house itself was treated with iron, givin its characteristical color).

From there it was a matter of adding layers and qualifying spaces: a pavement, rethinking the green spaces, the cannopy, the sourronding walls that will be the limit to advance from, a barbeque, benches...

With that we discovered a new space in the back of the house that would become the principal space by having part of the cannopy, the barbeque, by being the place with more sun...

That is entrance image, where we wanted to add green area, a cannopy directly related to the eating room, and some benches that would be places to stay but also places to storage things, to put flowers on...

That is the resulting image, with the cannopy running towards the discovered space, the bench making the limit...

That is the space we were going to discover, a "back space" we wanted to convert in the "private space"

And we see that giving a cannopy, a brbq and making the floor regular made this a place to be, not just the rear back of the house.

This is the view just turning the house, a space with irregular ground, undefined limits and lack of qualifyed spaces.

Intervention on a broken neighbourhood.

We got asked what to do in a neigbourhood in Marseille (France) with big deterioration. Despite being in the center of the citty, right in the inner port, it was completely disconnected from it. The first analisis brang us to find a lack of "floor": buildings where there but they didn't have any relation with the ground (shops or anything) and the ground itself was not qualifyed (just being some parking space)

First thing we did was asking some of the big painters to be placed on the floor, showing us different ways of seeing it by placing some of their paintings instead of the floor.

The matisse painting gave us a line that could cross the neighbourhood avoiding it to have strong lines of circulation arround (green and red) it but none inside it (bule, new line proposed).

So the first actuation was finding this "soft line"

and "tighten" it to be part of the neighbourhood.

Next step was placing strips in the oposite direction that would "qualify" the floor and bring it to the sea, that had a strong activity

And using this new floor to fold it and place underneath two big constructions: a big parking to solve the new lack of parking space and a big museum to place the neighbourhood in the citty. We also placed a "small scale" service: a gym for the local people.

Project - Existing Situation.

We got asked to refurnish the access hall of an existing building (right). The entrance was very narrow and there was a circulation conflict: messengers had to access (cross security) to handle the documents.

So de decission was to create a bigger public space (left) and bring register to the outside: giving this way an entrance space in the scale of the building and solving the circulation conflicts and messengers could handle the documents without entering the building.

Information. To clarify the space, a big desk is the first thing you see, the information desk.

Fast entrance for messengers. The desk becomes a bench to sit or to put the helmet, the bag...

Access to the building: Security appears at the end, as an isolated desk where to make all the steps to enter the building.

This are the first renders we did. Color apeared here as a way of making the desks more visibles, and therefore they were all the same red (autocad red, in fact)

There were still too many folds that were cleaned afterwards. But the basic disposition in plan was there.

For instance security desk had to change a lot still as we didn't knew how big would it become.

But the basic ideas and circulations were there (flow dispostion in plan, making the public space bigger...), and of course all the programatic requirements (specially bringing files reception out, with connection to the public so people didn't have to enter to handle documentation).

Vivir con madera Competition

"Vivir con madera" was an open competition who asked people to give new trends of life using wood.

Our proposal was wood2, that means reusing wood too small or too old to be reused.

The wood would be converted to small particules and mixed with stabilitzators that, once conformed would give a second life to this wood

These pieces would include 3 standard pieces able to create the basic unit. A clear loft 4x2 m. and as long as the user would want.

3 basic pieces assambled as user's dreams would say.

But not all projects can be done with this abstract pieces, so we also imagined some special pieces that allow you to create other kind of habitable spaces:
A bigger one, and a roof window can help you creating a library.
Bigger separation from ground and a stair can give you a tree-house.
Special configuration creating furniture can give you a house.

These units could be placed in any part, as they could be transported easily and assembled on place.

Conference Hall at "Ave Maria", Barcelona

The proposal comes from cleaning the actual conference hall, leaving it clear, and placing a big "furniture" that creates the seats & the speacker zones, creating a wall that embraces both.

This wall has different widths and distances from the room creating space for storage, just being a wall, creating a small changing room, solving the relation between the floor and the windows... making by this a spiral that goes troughall the sala.

At the rear it creates a small "office" room, wich serves also as a small acreditation space.

The first seats gently turn to look at the speakers.

The intervention takes it's high from the lateral doors and has a precise control of where and when touching and not touching the original sala.

It is constructed in wood, as a light construction than can be constructed fast and clean, without disturbing the normal function of the building.
